Interim Pastor - Jon Peterson

Jon PetersonJon began serving as our Interim Pastor in October 2018. He was in the active pastorate for 30 years, during which time he served churches in Turlock, California; San Mateo, California; Grants Pass, Oregon and Redwood City, Californa. Three of those were Baptist of one description or another. The last was Covenant. Since retiring, he has served four churches as an interim, the most recent at Grace Community Covenant here in town.

After he retired from the active pastorate, he served for three years as Consulting Chaplain with Mercy Ships. Scattered in and amidst all that other stuff he taught Communications and Preaching at Fuller Seminary for 15 years (adjunct at three different satellite campuses). He has a BA in communication, an MA in persuasion, a Mdiv in New Testament and a DMin in change.

Jon has a lovely wife of 48 years (Cheri who runs a business renting and buying apartments) and two grown daughters (one in Minnesota and one in Washington). He also has five brilliant and talented grandchildren.
Interim Youth Pastor - Josh Carpenter

Josh came to River Ridge in October 2018. He and his wife, Tiff, have been serving in youth ministry for over eight years in some capacity. They have worked with all ages of students and have a real passion to see God move in – and change – the lives of the students.

Josh and Tiff have been married for 13 years and have two beautiful and amazing daughters. Ryann (12) is a sixth grader at Aspire Middle School and Zoe (9) is in the third grade at Seven Oaks. They have two dogs and two cats. Josh and Tiff both grew up here in Olympia and love this area. They both graduated from Northwest Christian High School. Josh has a BA from Northwest Nazarene University in Pastoral Ministry. Some things they love to do as a family are play games, hike, ride bikes, and so much more.
Worship Director - Jeremy Tyler

Jeremy TylerJeremy began serving River Ridge Covenant Church as Worship Director in September of 2018. He has been on worship teams and leading worship in the Lacey/Olympia area since 1991. His goal is to create an environment in which people can engage with their creator through worship. Jeremy enjoys football, working on his house and yard, playing Pokémon Go, watching movies and collecting musical instruments. He and his wife, Janelle, have two kids - Sullivan and Jelena.

Linsey Lyons
Linsey began attending River Ridge Covenant in 2011 with her husband, Ben. They have two daughters born between 2011 and 2014, whom they homeschool. Linsey works part-time as an Emergency Medical Technician, which she has been since 2006. She volunteers with Team World Vision, and in the rest of her free time she enjoys running, skiing, gardening, and spending time with family and friends.
AmyAmy began attending River Ridge Covenant in 2015 and has lived in the area since 2010 when her family moved here from Alaska. She is a homeschool parent of three boys. Amy's husband, Nowell, works as an Electrical Engineer at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM). Nowell and Amy are both Army veterans. Amy enjoys the outdoors (hiking and camping), gardening, arts and crafts, photography, and reading a good book with a cup of tea.
Administrative Assistant - Hilda Beirne

Hilda BeirneHilda has been the administrative assistant at River Ridge Covenant since July of 2008. She is married to Timothy and together they have two grown children and a wonderful son-in-law. Hilda enjoys trips to British Columbia to see her mom, and trips to the local thrift stores or garage sales.
Church Administrator - Dennis Anderson

Dennis ADennis is responsible for policy development, business administration, and facilities management. A longtime member of our congregation, in 2015 he joined our staff part-time after retiring from government service. He and his wife, Lynette, have two grown sons and three grandchildren (so far).

Harwood Sue2014Sue began volunteering in the church office in 2013. She loves the work and the people. Sue became a widow in 2001 after nearly 30 years of marriage. She has six step-children, ten step-grandchildren, and four step-great grandchildren—all living in Washington. She enjoys spending time with friends, working at church and visiting the kids when possible.
